ACT Fibernet Rolls Out Public Wi-Fi Hotspots in Chennai Offering Round the Clock Internet

ACT Fibernet has become one of the most popular broadband service providers in the country, and it is also one of the few operators in the space which is offering speeds of up to 1 Gbps. However, in a new update, ACT Fibernet has announced a partnership with Greater Chennai Corporation to deploy Wi-Fi hotspots across the city. As per the latest release from ACT Fibernet, the initiative is part of the Smart City project which has been hatched by the government and will be carried out by Greater Chennai Corporation.

ACT Fibernet Planning To Set Up Free WiFi Zones In Chennai

ACT Fibernet is rolling out free WiFi zones in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company has also partnered with Greater Chennai Corporation for the same. According to the company, under this initiative, people will get free access to WiFi connectivity. As a part of the tie-up, Act Fibernet will provide free internet for 30 minutes at a speed of 20MbpsIn fact, the company claims that close to 250 to 300 users at a time can access the WiFi hotspots. The company will install 25 WiFi zones across all prime locations in the city. It includes 14 Amma Canteens across 15 Zones. Apart from that, the company has revised its broadband plans for its Chennai users, where it is offering 50Mbps. The company has seven plans that include a Giga plan. It ships 1Gbps download speed. Interestingly, this plan is cheaper in Chennai compared to other markets like Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Wired broadband provider ACT Fibernet has entered into a partnership with Greater Chennai Corporation to roll out free WiFi zones in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The initiative is a part of the Smart City project started by the government and executed by Greater Chennai Corporation to provide citizens access to free WiFi connectivity. As a part of the tie up, over 25 WiFi zones across prime locations in the city including 14 Amma Canteens across 15 Zones in Greater Chennai Corporation have been installed.

ACT Fibernet has announced the launch of special ‘Gaming Packs’ for customers. The Gaming pack is a subscription service for gamers that will be made available in two variants – A-Game Basic (monthly) and A-Game Ultra (six-month variant) and is built with many first-to-India features like Speed on Demand, Data Boost etc. Those who have subscribed to the Gaming Pack can improve their plan speed on demand through their “SpeedBoost” feature. This feature, when activated through the ACT Application or Website, will boost speeds to 300 Mbps to enable easy download of large gaming updates or facilitate smooth multiplayer gaming with friends among others.
